Overwatch 2 today revealed its next major in-game collaboration, this time with the popular space western anime series Cowboy Bebop.
Launching in-game on 13 March on all platforms, players will be able to unlock Cowboy Bebop-inspired skins, emotes, highlight intros, and more for some of Overwatch 2’s most recognisable characters. Music from Cowboy Bebop will also be featured in Overwatch 2 as part of this event.
Unlockable Legendary skins include the Spike Spiegel Cassidy, Faye Valentine Ashe, Jet Black Mauga, Ed Sombra, and Ein Wreckingball skin, the latter of which can be unlocked by all players for free. The skins will be revealed to players on the eve of the event going live in-game, on 12 March.
“We’re honored to be collaborating with one of the most respected anime series of all time in Cowboy Bebop,” Overwatch 2 Associate Director Aimee Dennett said. “This collaboration is a wonderful way to pay homage to the legendary stories, art, animation, and music of the Cowboy Bebop series. We hope its fans and our players have as much fun with what we’re bringing to Overwatch 2 as we did in creating it.”
The Cowboy Bebop collaboration is the next step in the game’s burgeoning space outside of the Overwatch universe – which has included forays into music and fashion – and is the franchise’s second collaboration with a popular anime series. Fans looking to relive the action can stream Cowboy Bebop now on Crunchyroll in select territories.
